Powerwall 2, is the second generation battery created for homes and small businesses.
The new battery is now more rectangular (more straights), and can store twice as much energy than the first Powerwall battery.
At the price of $5,500, Powerwall 2 has a capacity of 14 kWh energy storage, and 7 kW output.
Powerwall 2, can power now the lights, the sockets and the refrigerator of a 4 bedroom house for a full day.
At utility scale, Musk presented the Powerpack 2, which can store now twice the amount of energy, 210 kWh energy storage capacity and 50 kW output.
Musk considers that a solar roof is better than a normal roof, because it looks better, lasts longer, has better insulating effect and the cost of the roof plus electricity is lower than the cost of a normal roof.
In Tesla’s vision, the future home is integrated and will look like this: an electric vehicle (maybe a Tesla car), a Powerwall battery, and a solar roof.
The new rooftop solar tiles look different than normal tiles, they have higher resistance and some of them are made of Tuscan glass.
