There is a new app created by Allen Wong from Rego Apps LLC, that can almost fully control remotely a Tesla S vehicle.
The new app is called “The Remote S app” and is not available in the Apple Store yet because Tesla Motors Inc. and Apple Inc. are not yet aware of its existence and of course is not approved yet.
In the actual form, the new app can unlock and start a Tesla vehicle by using an Apple Watch, and the watch has almost full control over the car, it can turn on the air conditioning system, it can open the roof and can do many other things.
All these can be done remotely by using this app installed on an Apple Watch, and because all is done using the internet, you don’t even need to be close to the car.
This could sound dangerous, so I think that the new app needs a strong security system or different settings because you don’t want to stay inside your car while others are controlling the vehicle remotely and without your knowledge.
I don’t yet fully understand the use of this app, and maybe I need to see what are all the functions available with it.
If you are not inside the vehicle, maybe the car is parked in the garage or in the parking lot, so it is not funny to open the roof, start the air conditioning, honk the vehicle and so on, while nobody is there, but if you want to scare others that are close to the car then maybe yes.
If you get inside the vehicle and you have control over it is no use of this app.
The app can be used instead when you want to prepare the car for road because you can prepare the vehicle remotely while you are still inside the house, so you can save some precious time with the help of the app.
If Apple and Tesla Motors will ever accept this app, I’m sure that only the logic functions will remain available and the app will come with a strong security system that will prevent others from accessing your car only by using the app.
