Tesla Powerwall is coming to Australia later this year.

Australia receives the highest amount of sunlight in the world and that is a fact that made about 1.4 million homeowners to install rooftop PV solar systems in order to lower their energy bill and reduce the carbon footprint of their house.

Beside this, Australia is a country where electricity has a pretty high price, and this creates the perfect conditions to produce your own clean energy by installing solar panels even if the gap between the price paid for grid electricity and the amount of money received as subsidy to install solar panels is quite large.

Having a great exposure to sunlight and perfect conditions to produce large amounts of solar power, it is expected that by the year 2040, one of two homes in Australia will have solar power installed.

All these interesting conditions in Australia like a great Sun exposure, high energy prices and low financing costs have drawn the attention of large solar battery suppliers like Tesla, LG and Panasonic which now plan to build some of their solar batteries here.

Tesla plans to develop two new markets outside the U.S. for the Tesla Powerwall and for the Tesla Powerpack in Germany and Australia.

Later this year, Tesla plans to introduce its solar batteries to consumers in Australia, and when the market for these solar energy storage systems will take shape, it is expected to see an increased number of new solar PV systems installed in the country.

With the arriving of other big companies like LG and Panasonic in Australia, it is expected to see a lot of activity here later this year.

It is very important that large companies like Tesla, LG and Panasonic are getting involved in the development of the renewable energy sector in a country like Australia, because last year we saw that the Aussie government had plans to rely heavily on coal to cover the energy demand in the country, even if everybody knows that the Australian continent has the best conditions in the world to produce large amounts of solar power.
