The 2016 Chevrolet Bolt EV
This is a five-passenger and five-door little crossover vehicle which is all-electric.
The Bolt is promising a range of over 200 miles without any charge for a price of about $30,000.
This is just a concept car at this moment, but if we remember, Tesla said that they want to create an affordable electric vehicle with the price of around $30,000 and with a range of 200 miles.
If the Bolt will come at the same price of $30,000, but with a longer range, I think Tesla Motors must go back to the drawing table and improve the range of its affordable version of Tesla.
Even if the Bolt is just a concept car yet, so is not on the production line at this moment, we can expect to see this car on the streets in the next couple years.
Being a little crossover vehicle, the Bolt features a high roof made of glass, actually the entire top of the car is made of glass.
There is a lot of cargo space inside the vehicle, it has even a sport mode of driving, which of course, reduces the maximum range.
Inside, we can see a 10 inch display, we can use even our smart phone as key, it features a self-parking mode and also supports some sort of drive sharing function.
Like I already said, The Bolt EV concept is powered by a lithium-ion battery which can deliver a range of more than 200 miles, and this is awesome for a price of only $30,000.
For most of us, this electric vehicle can be our everyday car, because its range is big enough to cover our everyday transportation needs, even if we live in the U.S. or in another part of the world.
Due to the advanced battery technology, another technique that contributes to the Bolt EV range includes advanced lightweight materials like aluminum, magnesium and carbon fiber which were used to build the vehicle.
General Motors says that 2016 is the year when the Chevy Bolt EV will be available for buying in the U.S.
